Flying beyond: a hot air balloon journey with Matteo and Veronica Ruggeri to tell a story of rebirth

A new season of “Storie da raccontare” is taking off—Stellantis Autonomy’s video series dedicated to sharing powerful stories of resilience and self-discovery.

This year, a new host will guide us through these journeys: Veronica Ruggeri, a beloved Italian TV personality known for her sincere and engaging style, ready to take us deep into authentic and inspiring human experiences.

In the first episode of 2025, we meet 21-year-old Matteo Mariotti from Parma, a young man who has turned adventure into a way of life. In 2023, while in Australia, Matteo survived a dramatic encounter when he lost a leg after a shark attack at sea.

Together with Veronica Ruggeri, Matteo takes on an unforgettable hot air balloon ride over the rolling hills of Chianti, where he opens up about his journey and the profound self-awareness he has gained since the accident. “I lost a part of myself. But I’ve found so many others,” he says—an emblem of a spirit that turns vulnerability into strength.
