Viaggiatori in Carrozza is an editorial project created to tell the story of Italy through the eyes of those who face the challenge of mobility every day, turning travel into an experience of freedom, inclusion and discovery.
The stars of the initiative are Danilo and Luca, two wheelchair users who, thanks to Autonomy’s adapted vehicles, travel across the country to show that moving, exploring and enjoying new experiences should be possible for everyone.
The project unfolds through a series of journeys across Italy, through villages, cities, nature routes and accessible cycle paths, with the aim of promoting more inclusive and sustainable tourism and highlighting the places that are concretely committed to breaking down barriers.
Aboard adapted vehicles, historic cars with special controls and vehicles equipped for assisted mobility, the protagonists travel through very different territories, from the hills of the Langhe to the Alpine valleys, from the Tyrrhenian coast to Southern Italy, sharing experiences that show how sport, culture and travel can be accessible to everyone.
Handbikes, cycle paths, outdoor activities, and village visits thus become opportunities to raise public awareness of the value of autonomy and the importance of designing inclusive spaces and services.
The support of Autonomy’s adapted vehicles makes every stage of the journey possible, allowing the protagonists to reach places that are often difficult to explore for those with specific mobility needs and demonstrating in concrete terms how technology can improve quality of life.
Viaggiatori in Carrozza is not just a travel story, but a project that promotes a new culture of mobility: more accessible, more aware, more open to everyone.
Because autonomy is not only about arriving at a destination but always having the freedom to choose where to go.
