Storie da raccontare speeds across the water with Vanni Oddera and Henry Scorner

In the Storie da raccontare project, Autonomy puts the experiences of people who face life with determination and passion at the center. In this episode, freestyle motocross champion Vanni Oddera meets Enrico Mecozzi, aka Henry Scorner, an influencer and creator who shares his everyday life on social media despite agenesis of his left hand. Together, they live an adrenaline-filled experience on the water, turning the encounter into a moment of sharing and inspiration, where sport, courage and the desire to push beyond one's limits become the true driving force of the story.

[00:00–00:10]

[We are in Pesaro, in the Marche region. Vanni Oddera and Henry Scorner get into a Peugeot 208 and drive along country roads.]

[00:11]

Vanni: Tell me three good things about yourself.

[00:13]

Henry: Okay—sarcasm, irony, and… do my hair count?

[00:18]

Vanni: Absolutely.

[00:20]

Vanni: Sports car, elegant, off-road, or city car?

[00:23]

Henry: Elegant.

[00:24]

Vanni: Why is that?

[00:26]

Henry: Because I am.

[00:27]

Vanni: What is agenesis?

[00:29]

Henry: Basically, I’m missing my left hand.

[00:31]

Vanni: Are Enrico Mecozzi and Henry Scorner the same person?

[00:35]

Henry: Enrico Mecozzi, let’s say, existed online until 2018, when I used to keep my hoodie down and hide my hand. When I pulled it up, that’s when Henry Scorner was born.

[00:45]

Vanni: For some people, disability can be a huge source of pain. What would you suggest to help them?

[00:50]

Henry: Definitely not caring about others’ judgment, but most of all asking for help if you need it.

[00:56]

Vanni: Usually you’re the one pulling, but today you’ll have to be pulled. Are you ready?

[01:02]

Henry: I was born ready.

[01:03–01:20]

[Vanni rides a jet ski, towing Henry, who is seated on a floating seat and attached with a rope. Henry has fun as he is pulled across the water. Then the car is seen setting off again.]
